Reuse Idaho Brownfields Coalition (RIBC)
Idaho’s six (6) Economic Development Districts (EDDs) and the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) are forming the Reuse Idaho Brownfields Coalition (RIBC) and submitting to EPA a proposal seeking $3,000,000 in grant funds to capitalize a statewide Brownfields Cleanup Revolving Loan Fund. Using the EPA funds, the RIBC will offer sub-grants and no-to-low interest loans to local governments, non-profits and private sector participants, to assist in the clean up of Brownfields properties. Brownfields are abandoned or under-utilized properties the reuse of which is complicated by actual or perceived environmental contamination.
RIBC’s proposal is due to EPA no later than November 1, 2004. RIBC is
accepting comments on its Draft Proposal through November 9, 2004. You may contact
Pat Engel with SAGE Community Resources, 208-322-7033, to request a copy of
